1941 Willys Jeep MB
In the sixth installment of the Transformers movies, Bumblebee spends most of his time as a Volkwagen Beetle. When he first arrives on Earth, he disrupts a Sector 7 training exercise. Sector 7 is a secret government agency that monitors extraterrestrial activity on Earth. Trying to flee the hostile humans, Bumblebee quickly scanned a jeep alternate mode to make his escape and fled through the woods until he was cornered outside of an abandoned mineshaft. Despite his best intentions to assure the humans of his good intentions, the Autobot scout found himself attacked by the Decepticon Blitzwing. When Bumblebee refuses to tell Optimus Prime’s whereabouts, Blitzwing tears out his voice box and damages his memory core. Shortly before his Jeep body dies he scans a VW Beetle taking its form, and at some point the derelict car found its way to a run-down salvage yard in Brighton Falls, where it was covered and left to rust. This Jeep has a Willys L134 Go Devil straight 4 engine, 3-speed manual transmission and 4-wheel drive. The Willys Jeeps were manufactured during WWII for mobilizing the allied forces. There is pink tape on the outside of the Jeep which was used for lining up post production CGI work. The vehicle was painted yellow based on a paint sample from earlier Bumblebee vehicles, and there is also “dirt” on the body which is believed to have been painted on by the production company.
